This is Part Four of the Enchanted Mystery series.
If you perform one of my scripts, please let me know so I can add the video to my channel!
[sound of rustling branches and leaves]
[softly romantic] Hello.
[sudden, lighthearted giggles]
[teasing] Are you lost, my dear?
Do you need someone to . . . help you find your way?
[pause]
[happy] It’s been a long time since I first asked you that.
A long time . . . even as my people mark the years.
[pause]
[romantic] Do you still remember that day?
How I first showed myself to you?
And I asked you if your heart was cold iron?
Or if you were bold enough . . . to follow where I led you?
[pause]
[joyous giggles]
[lighthearted] My daring lover!
[long pause]
[serious now] My adorable man.
So beautiful.
So strong.
[a single, perfect kiss]
[long pause]
[romantic] You charmer!
I love it when you talk to me that way.
[another single kiss]
[pause]
I have a surprise for you today.
Something you haven’t seen before.
Not in all the endless years . . . of our love together.
[pause]
[teasing] Well, you’ll have to follow me to find out!
Let me lead you away . . . again.
[sound of rustling branches and leaves begins and continues]
Let me lead you back . . . to my place of power.
Back . . . to where I can protect you.
From every dangerous thing.
Except my heart!
[sound of rustling branches and leaves ends]
It’s so different now.
Bringing you here.
[pause]
Lately . . . I’ve been thinking back to that day.
I remember . . . how your hand was trembling in mine.
[pause]
[teasing] Oh, yes it was!
You were shaking like a leaf.
I mean, don’t get me wrong.
[romantic] You were bold!
Your daring stole my heart that day.
But you knew you were in danger.
I could feel it.
[sound of running water begins, at low volume, continues pleasantly in the background]
This world is your home now.
This water . . . is your water.
And the power in it, too.
Not just mine now.
It’s yours as well.
[pause]
But . . .
[romantic] I still plan to keep you close to me.
So I can protect you.
[brief sound of rustling branches and leaves, does not continue]
[optional: as they enter her grove, the sound of water in the background may remain unchanged, stop completely, get quieter or get louder, depending on how you want the listener to picture the water in her grove – it could be a completely still pond, or a broad river running gently, or a bubbling stream running swiftly]
Here we are.
The place of our beauty.
The place of our power.
[pause]
[gently coaxing] Come, my darling.
Sit with me.
Like we did on that first day.
Remember?
“Put your feet in my water.”
[pause]
[she takes a long, slow breath in and out]
Our children are restless tonight!
Do you feel them?
[pause]
Swiftwing is bringing sweet dreams to lovers as they sleep.
Even when they rest, she keeps helping them grow!
[pause]
Vinebranch is at a big protest.
He’s giving them confidence and courage.
Oh! Springtide is there, too!
She’s softening the hearts of the onlookers.
[pause]
You have been such an amazing father.
To all of them.
[pause]
Yes, you have!
Do not even start with this.
You are a marvelous father.
[several kisses]
It’s you . . . who have taught all of us . . . here in this world.
How to nurture new life.
[pause]
[delighted] Oh! Look at Noonday!
[pause]
He’s in Madrid.
[pause]
You see him?
[pause]
He’s helping a lover make a breakthrough.
To get control of his love.
So he can truly love his beloved.
Instead of just himself.
[pause]
What a moment.
For him.
For them.
And for all the new life that will follow.
[pause]
It was you . . . who taught them how to do that.
Who taught all of us how to do that.
[pause]
Tell me . . . my lover, who supposedly isn’t a great father.
When was the last time the world of men had a war?
I don’t even mean a major war.
Any war at all?
[pause]
It was that skirmish in central Asia, wasn’t it?
In that mountain pass.
Since then . . . nothing.
[pause]
That was . . . what?
Four hundred years ago?
Five?
[pause]
When was the last genocide?
Or mass shooting?
[pause]
Yes, of course they still have problems.
They still have anger and resentment and greed.
They still disagree about what’s right.
[pause]
But after thousands of years . . .
They have finally learned how to embrace.
How to embrace people they don’t understand.
[pause]
That was us.
Us and our children.
Teaching them to love.
To truly love.
[pause]
You did all that!
[pause]
Yes, you did!
When you chose to follow me into the woods.
On that day, all those centuries ago.
When I lured you . . . to meet your fate.
[pause]
I didn’t let on at first . . . but . . .
I was so in awe of you.
In awe of your daring.
[pause]
I wanted to give my heart to you.
Right from that first moment.
When you saw me.
And I saw you . . . seeing me.
[pause]
Giving you my heart . . . has changed me.
I’ve grown so much.
You showed me what it meant . . . to really love.
To love in the truth.
[pause]
You’ve changed too!
And we and our children . . .
We’ve changed millions of others.
[pause]
The darkness of the world of men . . .
The long darkness of hate and violence . . .
It’s passing.
[pause]
Every time they love truly . . .
Control their love . . . and love in the truth . . .
They stop living in the darkness.
And they stop passing the darkness on.
[pause]
They stop hurting each other.
And they stop teaching their children to hurt each other.
So future generations . . . countless descendants . . .
Have a chance to live in the light.
Every single time.
[pause]
And that’s why I have a surprise for you now.
[pause]
I went back to the waterfall yesterday.
Like I have . . . so many times.
I thanked the oracle . . . for bringing us together.
Like I always do.
[pause]
And this time . . . when I did . . .
He spoke to me.
Just like he did that first time.
I hadn’t heard that voice in thousands upon thousands of years.
But I recognized it instantly.
[pause]
He told me I had fulfilled my fate.
And that you would soon discover yours.
[pause]
[teasing] Oh, you want to know what that means?
[lighthearted laughter]
[sparkling] But I like being mysterious!
[kissing]
[romantic] I like reminding you how dangerous I am!
[kissing]
Didn’t I warn you?
When I first lured you here?
[one final kiss]
But you . . .
You’re so much more dangerous than I ever was.
My daring man.
[pause]
Are you ready?
[pause]
Dip your hands . . . into our water.
Offer me your cup.
To drink from.
[sound of something dipping into and out of the water]
[joy] So daring!
[giggle]
[romantic] Now . . . see my heart.
And see your fate as well.
[long pause]
That’s right.
My unhappiness is gone.
Because I have you.
And our children.
And our world.
[pause]
You did that.
You brave, beautiful, powerful man.
[pause]
Your love changed me forever.
[pause]
And now you know your fate.
Teaching men to love truly . . . was only the beginning.
It is removing the darkness.
And now that they can love truly . . . they are capable of more.
So much more.
Things they could never have dreamed of.
[pause]
And we will lead the way.
Our love will lead the way.
[kissing]
[pause]
It was you.
You opened that door for us.
So we could open it for them.
And they can now open it for all the future.
All because of you.
My daring lover!
